Oui! Carmen spends the month of September in Montreal, improving her French under professeure Martine Cardin's expert guidance at the YMCA International Language School! As well, she eats tons of heavenly bagels and mouthwatering poutine, goes to a Les Habitants hockey game, gets to know the city's diverse quartiers and, overall, enjoys la scène culturelle du Quebec to the fullest.

Trasiego is a multilingual, participatory installation and soundscape of poetry, visual and digital art created by Dafne Blanco-Sarlay and Carmen Rodríguez –an exploration of issues related to uprooting and re-rooting, place, migration and memory, was presented at Marpole Neighbourhood House, in collaboration with the Vancouver Latin American Cultural Centre (VLACC) and the Indian Summer Festival ISM),

Homage :: In 2019, the Canadian Association of Spanish Language Scholars and Creators dedicated its annual Homage and Exhibition to my work as a writer, educator and activist! I felt extremely honoured by this recognition, particularly as it came from colleagues that I respect and admire. At the same time, it reminded me once again that we artists do not work and live in a vacuum; in fact, we are embedded in and are nourished by our communities.
